Model Building 101 - The Experts Tell All:

Ever tempted to build a ship model? On Saturday, February 2, 2008, members of the Carolina Maritime Model Society will provide the inside scoop on building model ships. They will host two one-hour sessions in the Battleship auditorium followed by demonstrations in the visitor center. The program runs from 1:00pm to 4:00pm and is free, but does not include touring the Battleship. Museum Ships Weekend:

Operating two stations aboard Battleship NORTH CAORLINA, the Azalea Coast Amateur Radio Club will participate in the annual Museum Ships Weekend, Saturday and Sunday, June 7 and 8, 2008. Sponsored by the Battleship NEW JERSEY Amateur Radio Club, 63 museum ships world wide will have HAM radio operators aboard ready to receive contacts from HAM operators.
The Azalea Coast Amateur Radio Club will have two modern stations operating through the ship's original cabling and antennas on 40 and 20 meter SSB (voice communications). There is also a potential for CW operation (Morse code) on 40 or 20 meters using the ship's original TDM-4 and TDE transmitters and RBC receivers.
