Lesson Plans

The Battleship North Carolina formed a Teacher Advisory Committee to help design lesson plans for the website. For the summer of 2000, three North Carolina teachers, Sean Fitzgibbon from Pender County Alternative/Learning Center, Barbara Hurn from Topsail Middle and Bill Bayliss from Pine Valley Elementary were employed by the ship to help create lesson plans. The lesson plans are designed for grades K-12 and are listed by the various disciplines: Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, Sciences and Activities. These lesson plans are designed for educators to use for various hands on activities and lessons for many different learning styles and abilities. All the materials needed for these lessons is on our website.

Language Arts The language arts section offers you North Carolina Curriculum based lesson plans for grades K-12.

Mathematics The math section offers you North Carolina Curriculum based lesson plans for grades K-12. They are divided into three educational levels: Elementary, Middle, and High School.

Science The science section offers you North Carolina Curriculum based lesson plans for grades K-12. They are divided into three educational levels: Elementary, Middle, and High School.

Social Studies The social studies section offers you North Carolina Curriculum based lesson plans for grades K-12
