The Eighth Annual Battleship Hootenanny will be held Tuesday, June 17th 2008 on the fantail of the Battleship NORTH CAROLINA. Produced by Mr. Hootenanny himself, John Golden, a popular folk singer and storyteller, this outdoor setting provides a great backdrop for this fine cast of local musical groups.

This event is open to the public, so come and enjoy good old time foot tappin', hand clappin', knee slappin', sing-a-long music under the stars. Tickets are $10 at the door. Cash Only! Popcorn and Pepsi products will be available for $1.00 each. The proceeds will benefit Friends of the Battleship. In case of rain the Hootenanny will be held in the Visitor's Center Auditorium.

• Fred Blohm - sings classics from the 40's & 50's
• Kent Knorr - performs ukulele folk songs
• Dave Bohn - sings Jimmy Buffet, Simon & Garfunkel & other sing-a-long favorites
• John Golden - sings folk songs and tells stories about coastal folklore
• Anne Haley - singer/songwriter with a great country voice & who has opened for major country artists
• Mark Teachey - singer/songwriter who plays guitar & performs songs by John Denver, David Wilcox & other folk favorites
• Catesby Jones - singer/songwriter & lively guitar player whose songs have been recorded by Nashville stars. His folk & country songs invite you to sing along

Come early and visit the Battleship NORTH CAROLINA. OPEN EVERYDAY from 8:00am to 8:00pm (Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day) and 8:00am to 5:00pm (Labor Day to Memorial Day weekend). Have an historic adventure on the most decorated US Battleship of WWII. Ticket sales for the Ship stop one hour before closing.
