Oral histories play an important part in our telling the story of the Battleship and her crew. From audio cassettes in the 1980s to digital video today, the collection includes first-person remembrances of the WWII crew of the Battleship, some who helped build her, some who were instrumental in saving her and bringing her to Wilmington, as well as others selected because of their unique insights into naval operations or various aspects of the WWII Battleship NORTH CAROLINA. In the future, we will collect oral histories from the 21st Century crew of the Submarine NORTH CAROLINA.
