Lesson 16 - Time Capsule

Subject: Language Arts - Grade Level: 5

Objective

Student will write a clarification paper with the assigned prompt: You and some of your close shipmates aboard the Battleship NC are going to hide a time capsule on the ship in an obscure place. You hope that it will be found and opened by the year 2000. List six items you will place in the time capsule and explain why you chose each item.

• Battleship oral History transcripts
  

Activities/Procedures

After student has read information about the Battleship and has seen a video of the ship, they will write a clarification paper explaining why they chose various items to place in a time capsule for future generations to find.
