Lesson 18 - A Day As a Sailor


Subject: Language Arts - Grade Level: 4,5,6


Objective

The students will compare and contrast a typical day onboard the Battleship NC for the enlisted man with that of their own in written format.

Materials

  • Enlisted man’s oral history transcript
  • Clock transcription
  • Plan of the Day

Activities/Procedures

Students will read oral history transcript and examine the plan of the day. They will then write a comparison/Contrast narrative of their typical day.

Presentation

Students will need and share their narrative with the class.

Assessment

Questions and class discussion will follow presentation.
