Lesson 5 - Geometry

Subject: Mathematics - Grade: 1

Objective

Spatial Sense and Geometry-the student will recognize, describe, and identify simple geometric shapes and forms.

Materials

• Battleship NC Website
• Photographs of different ship areas or rooms
• Signal flags
  

Activities

As the student tours areas or rooms of the ship, they will identify and describe the simple geometric shapes and forms they see. The teacher can record these "findings" on a big chart for all to see. They will also identify shapes on signal flags in the same manner.

Assessment

As the teacher points to the picture and various objects, the students will identify correct shapes.
