Wartime Timeline
Objective
Students will place events into chronological order and place onto a time line
Teacher Input
The teacher will give the students their blank time line and a list of events that relate tot he Battleship and W.W.II
Guided Practice
The teacher should complete the first example with them students to answer any questions that they may have.
Example
December 17th, 1941 Attack on Pearl Harbor
The students will place this event on the time line in the proper place, at the beginning.
Time Line Events
- Battleship lands at Pearl Harbor July 11, 1942
- Battleship is accidentally hit with friendly fire April 6, 1945
- THE NC gets her Big Guns, the 16 inch November, 1937
- Battleship Goes through Typhoon Cobra December 18, 1944
- The NC fires heaviest and most powerful barrage August 29, 1941
- Congress passes bill to begin construction on NC June 3, 1936
- Battleship NC is torpedoed September 15, 1942
- NC fires on Hitachi Industrial Complex July 17, 1945
- Pearl Harbor is Attacked December 7. 1941
- NC is launched from construction platform June 13, 1940
- NC is decommissioned June 27, 1947
- Battle of the Solomon Islands August 24, 1942
- Battleship rescues 10 pilots April 30, 1944
- The NC is commissioned April 9, 1941
- Battleship NC anchors in Tokyo Bay September 5, 1945
