Your Experience on the Battleship

Subject: Language Arts, Social Studies - Grade Level: 4,5

Objective

Given an imaginative prompt with the setting being the Battleship NC in the South Pacific during WWII, students will write an imaginative narrative describing their experiences on the ship.

Materials

• Oral history transcripts
• Tour of ship
• Battleship Website

Activities/Procedures

Students will plan and write an imaginative narrative that includes a beginning, middle, and end from an assigned prompt.

Assessment

Students must address the assigned prompt and attain at least a 2.5 score of proficiency.
