Taking US 17 North towards Wilmington merge with US74/76 East. Follow the signs for the Battleship Memorial and US 421 North.
Coming from the Deep South?
Heading I-95 North after you cross the border from South Carolina into North Carolina, take Exit 14 onto US 74 East towards Wilmington. When approaching Wilmington follow the signs to the Battleship Memorial and 421 North.
Follow 74/76 East towards Wilmington and follow the directional signs for the Battleship Memorial and 421 North.
Coming from the North?
If you are heading on I-95 South as you approach Benson NC, exit east on I-40 to Wilmington. Then follow the directions below, “In Raleigh”.
Follow I-40 East towards Wilmington. Take exit 416A (I-140/US 17 South) towards Myrtle Beach. Take the Battleship Memorial/ Wilmington exit, at the end of the off ramp, bear right onto US 421 South to follow the Battleship Memorial signs.
Taking 17 South take I-40, I-140, and US 17 towards Myrtle Beach. Do not take Business US 17. Take the Battleship Memorial/ Wilmington exit. At the end of the off ramp, bear onto US 421 South to follow the Battleship Memorial signs.
In downtown Wilmington?
Take US 17/74/76/421 across the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge to the first exit, toward Battleship NC/Clinton. Then take the next right to the Battleship.
Instead of driving across the river, you can also take the Bizzy Bee water taxi from Wilmington Water Tours, which arrives at the Piedmont Natural Gas Marine Trail Dock at the Battleship every half-hour. The water taxi serves three locations on the downtown Wilmington side of the Cape Fear River: at the foot of Market Street, by Chandler’s Wharf and in the hotel district.
