Full Guided Tour (The Showboat Tour) — Approx. 3 – 3.5 hours long

Explore 9 levels of the ship from the Main and Secondary Plotting Rooms to the Bridge. The tour includes the Engine Room, Turret II Barbette, Main Deck, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Deck plus the Upper Decks to the 04 Level. This is the tour that will leave you amazed at this powerful engineering marvel.

Second Deck Tour – “City at Sea” – Approx. 90 minutes

Tours start at 9 AM & 11 AM, 7 Days a Week

See what it was like to live aboard a floating city. 2,300 sailors lived and worked aboard this floating city at sea. The tour includes Living Spaces, Sick Bay, Mess Decks, Ship’s Stores, Barber Shop, Ice Cream Shop and so much more. Go back in time and live the experience. The Second Deck Tour does require going up and down several ladders (stairs) and is not recommended for visitors with mobility issues.

Above Deck Tour For Those With Limited Mobility – Approx. 90 minutes

If you are unable to climb ladders or do not like confined space, then this is the tour for you. There is plenty to see and do on the Above Deck tour. Your tour guide will take you through the history of how the Battleship North Carolina came to be and you’ll learn of her role in the fighting in the Pacific during WWII. You will also learn how she became the most decorated U.S. battleship of WWII.

Big Bang Tour – Approx. 3 hours

Saturdays, tours start at 9 AM

An overview focusing on the Battleship’s 16-inch and 5-inch gun batteries. Visitors will have the opportunity to follow the general procedure for firing the guns, from target identification and acquisition in the Combat Information Center and fire control directors, to the development of the fire control solution in Main and Secondary Plot. A visit to the powder magazines, projectile handling space, and the gun house completes the process that ended with a big bang. The Big Bang Tour does require going up and down several ladders (stairs) and is not recommended for younger children and visitors with mobility issues.
